How it works

How it works – four steps.

You take our online test and an interview in English, and if you need a work permit, we help with the application. SIRI decides on the permit.

1Step 1

Application

You send your diploma, experience and English level. We reply within 5 working days.

2Step 2

Test and interview

You take our online test. If you pass, we invite you to a structured video interview in English about your trade and experience. A trade diploma is required.

3Step 3

Employer and permit

If a Danish employer wants to hire you, you meet them on video, and they hire you directly. If you are not an EU/EEA citizen, you need a Danish work permit before you start. We help with the application. How long it takes depends on the permit and on SIRI's processing time. We cannot promise a start date.

4Step 4

Arrival in Denmark

Free advice on the safety card, finding housing and your first days. A fixed contact person for your first 90 days.

Danish certification scheme · 1 January 2027

Why Denmark is opening to tradespeople from outside the EU.

From 2027 certified Danish companies can hire from 16 non-EU countries, including Albania. The law was passed on 3 September 2026. From 1 January 2027, citizens of the scheme's 16 countries can generally start work once the application is filed, the fee is paid and biometrics are taken in Denmark. The permit can be withdrawn if a trade union objects. Kosovo and Bosnia are not part of the scheme. We recruit from all 16 countries, and from the EU.

FAQ

Questions we get every week.

Do I have to pay to get a job in Denmark?

No. Nordic Skilled never charges workers. We are paid by the Danish employer. Anyone asking you for a fee is not working with us.

How much English do I need?

Minimum B1: you can understand instructions and talk about your work. We test it in a video interview before you start.

What is the salary?

We cannot give you a figure before an employer makes you an offer. If you need a work permit, Danish rules require pay at the normal Danish level for the job, and the employer must document your pay to SIRI (the Danish immigration agency) in the application. The exact pay is agreed with the employer and stated in your contract.

Do I need a diploma?

Yes. A recognised trade diploma from a vocational or technical school is required. Send it with your application.

What about housing?

You rent your own home directly from a landlord, and we give free advice on finding housing and on your first days in Denmark. Nordic Skilled never charges you rent, a housing fee or any other fee.

Can my family come?

After you hold a valid Danish residence and work permit, family reunification is possible under Danish rules. We can point you to the right authority.

Do you only recruit from Albania?

No. We recruit skilled tradespeople from anywhere: the Balkans, EU countries and all 16 countries in the Danish scheme. The requirements are the same wherever you come from.
